Teams Client FAQ
Support

A.Microsoft has officially released and started rolling out a new Teams client for Windows and re-branded the former "classic" Teams client to
- Microsoft Teams classic (for Windows 10 and Mac devices), and to
- Microsoft Teams classic (work or school) (for Windows 11 devices).
For most customers worldwide this classic client will be terminated by March 31st 2024, at which point what is now called New Teams will presumably be re-branded to Teams. For the latest information on Microsoft's release plan, see: End of availability for classic Teams client - Microsoft Teams

All audio call handling and AnywhereNow Apps running inside this new Teams client (i.e. WebAgent and Attendant Consoles) have been proven to work consistently since the GA release by Microsoft and are therefore fully supported.
The only two AnywhereNow functions known to not work in conjunction with new Teams are:
1. the Auto-answer function of the Snapper. (Users will need to accept any call manually when it appears as a regular Teams toast A toast is a pop-up instant message or audio call notification the user receives on his desktop. before proceeding to another application)
2. the Desktop Integrator for Attendant Console for Dialogue Cloud and Attendant Console for Microsoft Teams. (Users will need to accept any call manually when it appears as a regular Teams toast before proceeding to another application). For Attendant Console for Microsoft Teams there already is an alternative solution available from Microsoft's voice eco-system: ACS ACS commonly known as the acronym for Azure Communication Services, Microsoft's multichannel communication API in Azure for voice, video, chat, text messaging/SMS, email, and more to applications.
Not te be confused with Azure Access Control Services (AACS) a deprecating authentication service of Microsoft, also sometimes abbreviated to ACS. (Azure Communication Services).
As always, we are committed to implementing solutions if and when Microsoft delivers capabilities in new Teams, or alternatives like ACS, for our applications to respond to. We will communicate in our Release Notes if new solutions become available, and adapt these information pages accordingly.

A.Unfortunately, it is not possible to add a participant from the Microsoft Teams client. However, the feature is fully supported via our AnywhereNow WebAgent. If your company isn't already using the AnywhereNow WebAgent, contact your AnywhereNow representative to get started.
